    Steve Jobs beat Bob Taylor

Steve Jobs got the better of me this season... Haha.
Instead of getting my Taylor, I got my Macbook first!

This is my new baby. Haha. 120GB memory, upgraded 2GHz of RAM. I got this all for $1,688 plus a wireless mouse and Office mac (Word, Excel etc.). Jia Yang was banging his head on the wall because his 80GB Macbook was more expensive than mine, as the price hasn't dropped when he bought it 3 months ago.

Oh and if you're wondering, this is how it happened: I was just talking to Wendy casually two Sunday nights ago and it just came naturally to tell her about my old VAIO laptop spoiling again. She was like "why your laptop keep spoiling one! get a new one lah... get a MAC!" Thus I told her about my past dilemma about getting a Mac or a Taylor, and that was when I got my "revelation" because she told me I needed a laptop more than a guitar right now! Being totally and immediately obedient to my leader, I went to buy one the next day... Hahaha! Whoo! Aiya but that's because I was already planning to browse for a Taylor the next day, but since the plans changed, I went to Sim Lim to get this white beauty instead.

Mac is fun. It isn't user friendly, but after one week of learning and using it, you'll never want to switch back to Windows. HAHAHA. I heard a joke made in our admin office that went "in our office, if you don't use Mac, you're not cool!" AMEN to that. Ever since Pastor How switched to Mac, the whole church has been steered to that direction. Anointing man!

Here are 10 reasons why you should own a Mac instead of a Windows-based laptop:-

    1) Windows has more chances of crashing than Mac. You always hear people saying they have to shut down their laptop or cannot hibernate for too long, as it would crash. Well, Mac users can restart their computers as long as once every 4 months! I restart mine every fortnight. Other times I just need to close the lid and it goes to sleep. Battery? Let's go to our next point.

    2) The full life of a Mac battery can go as long as 6 hours or close to 7. Currently mine is at 92%, but has 5 hours and 54 minutes left. What's yours? :) Under sleep mode, battery life only subtracts a little compared to a normal laptop.

    3) This is a true fact: 90% of the world's virus goes to Windows, 8-9% goes to others and only a small 1-2% goes to Mac. And Mac detects viruses like an application instead of hidden files that require only your McAfee or Norton programs to detect. Like thumb drive viruses, Mac would show up files like "desktop.ini" and "BOOTEX" as icons and Mac users can quickly identify them and not open them. Thus, Mac is almost virus free; A Mac user in our church said, "The chances of a Mac being attacked by virus is the same for a guy to get breast cancer." =0

    4) The slick and cool exterior design of the laptop and the classy interface compared to Windows. Take a look for yourself if you want, I'll be more than happy to show you more... Just don't spoil it. LOL.

    5) Fast and efficient. No lags. For mine alone, it has never lagged over the one week since I started using. People who are doing youth attendances on Excel sheets would be slowed down because their laptops lag due to the many formulas on the sheets, but Mac has never been affected by such problems. Connecting to the internet and using MSN hasn't had any speed problems.

    6) High performance, low maintenance. The only maintenance is keeping it clean and protected. I haven't heard of a Mac user bringing his for repair other than one out of so many whose screen cracked. Like I said, just about keeping it cleaned and protected.

    7) Does Alt+Tab or Windows+Tab cause your laptop to crash? Mac's All Windows option (that shows all the windows for you to switch to) is always available and efficient.

    8) Tired of long installation processes? Mac's applications (or programs, as Windows would call it) can be transferred just by dragging and dropping through external hard drives or thumb drive within less than 5 minutes. I got Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and Adium from Jia Yang all within half an hour.

    9) Start-ups runs as fast as leopards. No wonder they call it Leopard OS. You know how long Windows take to start up, but for Mac, I restarted mine once and went to pour myself a glass of water. When I came back (which was less than a minute), I thought it hasn't even restarted because everything looked the same before I restarted it, but I realised that it has already restarted with all my applications already running!

    10) ... Aiyaaa I'm lazy to think of another reason, I think even if I don't, I believe I will still see you with a Mac in the near future ;)

Here's the latest issue from Leadership Files which I just received through mail:

    COMMUNICATION
'But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another.' - 1 John 1:6

    You're going to love this;

People in a dark room want to turn the light on.
They want to see where they can walk.
Communication in an organisation turns the light on for everyone.
People do not function well in the dark.
Absence of communication leaves people in the dark.
Fear, distrust, suspicion, gossip and rumour all fester in this dark.
Trust, faith and security make an organisation healthy.
Communicate with people all the time.
    Arrange systems of communications.
Use all the technology available to maintain open lines.
Any military strategist will tell you that an army without communications is a defeated army.
Turn the light on in your families, your workplace, your networks.
    Communicate!

If your device lags too much and affects your lines of communication like emails and MSN, time for you to adjust a little. Be a Mac user! :) Hahahaha just kidding, but that's communication for you.

I'll blog again tonight! (edit: OK NOT REALLY :P)
